The Indian government should look into issues around data security of global apps like it did for the Chinese ones, Kavin Bharti Mittal, founder of local social media platform Hike, said, adding that just banning them would mean India remains an open market for likes of Facebook and Instagram to come and grab customers, undermining home-grown entrepreneurs.
