The struggling telco surprised analysts and the telecom industry by reporting that it added 1.7 million subscribers for the first time in 15 months in January, a month where Bharti Airtel continued to outpace rival Reliance Jio, according to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai).
