When TOI asked Teleperformance about the monitoring move being explored in its Jaipur centre, its management said that when permitted under applicable privacy and labour laws, it uses cameras for security purposes when employees in the work-at-home environment are logged into its systems, in these programmes, it periodically takes snapshots of an employee’s work environment to ensure compliance with security protocols such as its clean desk requirement.
