Uncertainty over the Omicron variant shrugged off the good GDP numbers and macroeconomic data. Also, the hawkish view of the Fed dampened the sentiments further. The BSE Sensex gained 589.31 points to 57,696.46, and the Nifty50 added 170.25 points to 17,196.70 during the week. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices rose over a per cent each.
