Vodafone Idea is "closer than it's ever been" to securing the roughly Rs 20,000 crore in additional funding it needs from lenders and outside investors to more successfully compete with Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel in the market, according to a report. According to Ravinder Takkar, the end of the process of issuing the government shares in the company in exchange for interest on deferred statutory payments is "almost around the corner."
