Vivo and Oppo, which even till 2021, had a few models under Rs 10,000, haven't launched new models in that segment this year, according to an ET analysis. Even South Korea's Samsung, which accounted for 13% of the sub-$100 segment in 2018, has only launched one new model under Rs 10,000 this year. As of August 2022, 39 new models were launched in the under Rs 12,000 segment, as compared to 41 new models in 2021 by this time, and 60 new models by the end of the year.
