Moynihan said that MediaTek’s “conscious decision” to be a part of the first wave of 5G device rollout helped it increase the company's revenue growth and market share growth. “MediaTek is now the number one Android supplier in the US market…we had decided that we were not going to be in the second wave of 5G and were going to hit 5G in the first wave itself,” he added.
