Trade-ins, where customers exchange an older handset for a discount, are higher primarily in the offline segment. Industry executives say three out of 10 handsets were purchased using trade-ins in 2022, up from 15% in 2021. In the online segment, the rate of traded-in handsets has been stagnant at 8-10%.
