Staffing firm TeamLease, while citing the data from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), said 1.39 million cybersecurity incidents were reported in India alone in 2022. It added that out of the cyberattacks on manufacturing companies, ransomware accounted for 23%.
